Kometen 2016/2017

Hallo allemaal,

Aangezien ik wel iemand ben die van Kometen jagen houdt heb ik alvast een aantal interessante Kometen van de komende periode opgezocht en voor jullie op een rijtje gezet. Mijn originele post was op DPreview, dus dit is een Kopie-paste variant van de originele post:

Just looked to the forecast of bright comets in the coming year and it seems that the beginning of 2017 is going to bring us some good ones.

Now we have C/2013 X1 (PanSTARRS) which shines at Mag6 at the moment but is very low in the sky for the Northern Hemisphere and difficult to catch in twilight and during the grey nights.

In December/January 2016-2017 we get 45P/Honda- Mrkos- Pajdusakova which is thought to shine as bright as Mag6 and is already better to watch, especially when it climbs higher during the month January to February where it’s almost in the Zenith at 84º under the winterskies

Then, in March 2017 we will get 41P/Tuttle- Giacobini- Kresakwhich is believed to shine at Mag5 and is more a midnight and morning comet during the following month, but it keeps quit steady at Mag5.

And then, but it’s still far far away we will get a nice christmas comet called 46P/Wirtanen which is supposed to shine as bright as Mag3 and could become a comet which will be vissible during the day.

Let’s hope all these predictions will come true and maybe some of the comets will put up an even better show.

Tsja, wat moet je zonder Geocities design en amateur-astronomie! :) Grappig inderdaad, toen ik begon vond ik dat ook al zo apart, ik struikelde er opeens over zoveel sites welke dat hebben.

Ik had het gezien inderdaad, maar met de opstelling die ik in de tuin heb staan gaat dit niet lukken. Magnitude 12 o.i.d. dat red ik bij lange na niet.

Ik wacht wel op die enkele heldere die zo nu en dan eens om de hoek komt kijken en probeer die wel vast te leggen.
