Musquetier started the topic error: save before star registrion in the forum Astro Pixel Processor Beta 9 years, 4 months ago
In 4) REGISTER when you press save without first going through start registration the progress slide hangs on 1%. When cancel is pressed all the buttons in all tabs are blocked. To fix this situation I need to stop and restart the application and reload all files, do a calibration and star analyses again to retry the registration process once…[Read more]

Kees, bedankt voor je uitleg. Ik was al bang dat ik hem zo zou moeten gebruiken en ik niet weet of de scherpstelling met in en uitschuiven met de hand wel afdoende zou zijn voor phd.

Median is with more than 10 frames alwyas inferior to average stacking Vincent, so I would suggest only to use median with just a couple of frames. Have you applied bias or darks, or a BPM in calibration?
Why use no normalization? Normalization is actually an essential part of stacking. Or did you mean bacgkround neturalization? If you are…[Read more]

Rob, if you select a slider, you can easily fine tune with the arrow keys on your keyboard.
The sliders in the menus on the left are auto apply. In the preview window not. But I can enable this with a listener, my first goal is to enable GPU processing for the preview filter, so it will work much faster. And then enable auto apply.

Detoxing from PI 🙂 …
Indeed, I forgot, I can always adjust my boxes after the first background calibration.
Thanks for your explanation.

So that didn’t make much difference in the stars, but I tweaked a bit with using median instead of average, no background normalization etc and although it’s difficult to see, the background is better in this one. Also nice to have a bit of extra vignetting correction, the flats didn’t fully correct that. I do seem to have some pattern in the…[Read more]

I find it difficult to work with the sliders. Some needs very slight adjustment and it would be handy if an auto apply would be done once a slider is released…

““we will not stack 1 frame” error (same as Rob reported)”
Set the images to stack slider al the way to the right, this is a quality slider for the images that you will stack. Default now is 80%, and with two frame, it will only select 1 at the moment.
“Loaded frame 3, star analyser, crash.”
So now the star analyser works with 2 frames, but not…[Read more]

Hi Rob,
At the top of the 6) integrate panel, you’ll see
Light to stack 1 of 2
probaby, set the slider below this all the way to the right, to stack all frames. I will set this to 100% by default.
APP gives a quality estimate of your frames, and that quality is used to determine which frames are the best in stacking. Using the slider, you can…[Read more]

Haverkamp replied to the topic Ha, OIII, SII stacking, how to? in the forum Astro Pixel Processor Beta 9 years, 4 months ago
Hi Yves, the no registration mode is to be set in
4) Register, registration mode: no registration.
APP is unlike PI, it is setup to do all steps
2) to 6) all in one go. So Registration is always a logical part of a stack process. If you have registered the data already, you want to use no registration mode.
My logic: if you don’t implement it…[Read more]
