Baader zegt hierover:

Please note: At this time AstroSolar PHOTO-Film in density 3.8 is only available in sheets of 200×290 mm. Other sizes are not available – and it must be said that we are VERY reluctant to keep offering this material in larger size because it is really dangerous – when misused.

Throughout the 21 years that we offer AstroSolar Film, safety laws have tightened considerably and while our AstroSolarFilm at OD5.0 will fill all safety requirements for telescope observation even with very large apertures of 1 meter in diameter, PHOTO Film could cause eye damage when someone would wrongly use it for visual observation despite all our warnings. The juridical consequences are simply not forseeable – if anyone would use the material for visual observation and burn his retina in spite of all warnings and protective advice given.

Actually – AstroSolar Photo Film OD 3.8 cannot at all be used for visual observation of the sun, not even with additional filters. It is solely suitable for high quality, short exposure time digital imaging, when using eyepieces or barlow lenses as projection device for achieving very long focal lengths. Alternatively suitable – even w/o any barlow focal length extention – will be the latest generation of lucky-imaging video-cameras, featuring pixel sizes of around 2 micron.

In a time were you can be sued $ 200 Mio in the US for selling microwave ovens that the owner is so … to be frying his cat with – it is very easy to imagine what might happen if people refuse to obey all warnings and get injured because of staring into the sun with equipment not intended to. We do ask for understanding that we cannot risk to experience such a situation anymore. We do ask everyone to extend greatest care when producing his own PhotoSolar-Filter. This material is not intended for the casual observer or imager but for specialists.

Dus is het modderen met 5.0 en hopen op rustig weer met een hoge transparantie en lage onrust in de atmosfeer.
