Astro Pixel Processor 1.061 has been released finally
!It’s a very big update including a totally new calibration engine with dark frame scaling and fully automatic Multi-Channel/Filter & Multi-Session processing:
– completely new calibration engine including 3-factor dark scaling, The calibration engine is now 100% transparant and much smarter internally. No more restrictions on exposure and iso/gain values for calibration.
– Fixed overcorrection of flat-field correction (happened on some datasets)
– fully automatic Multi-Channel/Filter & Multi-Session processing
– Several improvements and a big speed increase in star analysis
– Better Bad Pixel Map interpolation and detection of cold & hot columns
– Linux: no more focus claiming of APP when a new long task starts
– New and more informative implementation of progress monitors during long tasks.
– New load buttons including dark flats and all master types
– scrolling through images possible again with up-down arrow keys
– ability to better detect stars in out-of-focus exposures
– and more

Hoera en Joechei natuurlijk! Na het lezen van de Lanceer notities vraag ik me af of het verstandig is om alle masters opnieuw te maken. Ik denk dat het antwoord ja is en ik denk ook dat ik een aantal bewerkingen opnieuw ga doen.
Full auto re-process van M101 data, 200 bias, 200 flats 75 darks en de 4 filter lights in 1 keer gegeven aan APP …
Applaus, dit is inderdaad een gigantische update. Heb de video bekeken wat een schat aan informatie. Moet dit allemaal eens rustig gaan bekijken en rubriceren. Iets voor de grijze nachten.Als ik dit zo bekijk heb je voor de eind bewerking geen ander programma meer nodig. Zal aan de gang met de data set als deze komt.
Heel mooi @yves ! Ik ben er ook al mee aan het spelen, deze keer met oude data van meerdere sessies om te zien of dat ook lekker gaat. Ik geloof niet dat APP al HDR kan toch? Zou helemaal mooi zijn om dan alle verschillende belichtingstijden ook op de juiste wijzen toe te passen.
Woooooaaaaa, STAR ANALYSES is lightning fast now and I love the multi-channel, multi-session facilities available now!!!

Hoera en Joechei natuurlijk! Na het lezen van de Lanceer notities vraag ik me af of het verstandig is om alle masters opnieuw te maken. Ik denk dat het antwoord ja is en ik denk ook dat ik een aantal bewerkingen opnieuw ga doen.
Let op! De nieuwe calibratiemethode maakt het noodzakelijk om masters opnieuw te maken, met name Darks! (Dit wordt niet benadrukt in de “Lanceer notities”.) Zie ook de uitleg hier. B.v. deze passage: ”
In APP 1.060 and higher, the Masterbias is never subtracted from the darks if you create the MasterDark. That will ensure no vital calibration data is lost due to black clipping after MasterBias subtraction.
Then when the light frames (or flats) are calibrated, depending on wheter a MasterBias is present, the bias pixel is subtracted from the dark pixel before the dark pixel is subtracted from the light frame pixel (after which the light pixel is divided by the flat pixel). This will ensure that calibration always works as it should whatever masters that you load.
Unfortunately, this does mean that old MasterDarks that have the MasterBias already subtracted are suboptimal and probably less effective in calibration due to the clipped calibration data and need to be replaced if that’s still possible. (and otherwise, create a set of new darks and use APP’s new dark scaling function”
