Continued:
“Intermediate Priority:
1. allowing for raw files from Sony, Fuji, and Pentax. (For example, my current workhorse camera is Pentax 645z. It will be nice if I can stack 645z images using APP.)”
Indeed, will start work on this soon ;-)

Hi @whwang,
“I know that my Milky Way panorama is very challenging. At this moment, no any other programs can go as far as APP has. So even though the results above are not good enough yet, APP has already been far more successful than any other program. It is really wonderful to see this.”
Excellent, thank you very much for all of your co…[Read more]

Thank you, @bula. I’ll follow your suggestions and try to reproduce your result.
I have 2 arguments why this 6-panel is actually very hard to get perfect.
1) collimation problems, I noticed that the data was collected during several days. And collimation wasn’t constant over these days. Some panels have good stars in all 4 corners, but some h…[Read more]

Thank you @keesscherer and @supernov,
Wei-Hao, experienced a start-up time of several minutes. 10 seconds is still long though. Should investigate this further.
@supernov, see my initial message, most tooltips are still wrong and still need to be changed.
Top left & top panels are fixed, and menu 0)Raw/fits is done. The rest still needs serious…[Read more]

My startup-time was about 10 seconds and I noticed downloading of APP was 100x faster. 😉
One issue with the tooltips, they are in black text over dark-grey background, which is hard to read. -

Wei-Hao experienced very long start-up times. Has anyone else experienced this?
Installed 1.038 (Linux 64 bit DEB) and start up time is 8 seconds. The Tooltips are great!

Added this to the RFC, should help mosaicing of frames with little overlap:
“- For mosaicing, I need to provide option that pattern descriptors per scale are created along the borders instead of only squares spread over the entire image. By using rectangles instead of squares, the registration must become more robust with little star count at the…[Read more]

After extensive testing on your data, I have some conclusions now.
First of all, the best workflow would be to make a camera profile using single subs of each panel. To do this we can register with:
3) star analyis
star count limit around 5000
kappa above noise at 3
4) register
“same camera and optics” on
“calibrated…[Read more]

Maar…[Read more]

You’re welcome Hans,
Your image looks pretty good to me.
“I think flats and guiding are serious issues.”
Yes, if you can improve on these 2 issues, I have no doubt that your images will benefit hugely ;-)
