Hier is mijn poging van een avond eerder. Ook bij mij laat de foto te wensen over…ik moet toch ook maar flats gaan schieten in het vervolg, of mijn sensor heel goed schoonmaken.

Thanks for the further clarification and your proposal to convert the PI calibration files to APP files. I’ve just shot new sets op bias frames and APP is “chewing” on it as we speak ;-)

Hi Maurice,
Thanks, you can convert your old master calibration files from PI to APP, but it is not so easy. The main reason being:
APP uses the whole sensor of your camera for the creation of the calibration frames. And a program like PI, that has a dependency on DCRAW doesn’t do this. So the calibration frames that PI makes have smaller image…[Read more]

Excellent, Mabula. Very clever! I’ll have to make new (master) bias frames; which is not a problem. It didn’t work with converted PixInsight xisf to fits master bias files (probably due to missing gain info in the header).

Ik gebruik ook Photoshop en dan maskers en lagen! om de Komeet in de Star-stack te klonen

Is dat niet makkelijk in Photoshop dan? Ik heb dat gedaan voor het maken van maskers voor mijn M31 data, eerst met clonestamp en toen veel sneller in Photoshop. Maar wellicht gaat dat alleen echt goed voor maskers, heb ik verder geen ervaring mee.

Ziet er erg leuk uit! Maar hoe gebruik je nu precies de clonestamp-tool? De sterren-strepen heb je dan in het hele plaatje lijkt me en is er dan niet een betere combo-methode voor het sterren-veld en de komeet?

Komeet 41P/Tuttle-Giacobini-Kresak op 22 maart 2017 20:00-20:45 nabij M108 en M97. Dit is versie 1 van de bewerking, voor de opname zijn 17×120 seconden iso1600 gebruikt waarbij in DeepSkyStacker de Cometstackmode is gebruikt. APP has the following rules for applying master calibration frames to frames that need calibration:
First, for BIAS frames there are no rules, since they can’t be calbrated
Darks: can only by calibrated by a master bias of the same ISO or gain + offset (but usually gain + offset are not even in the fits header of the software that…[Read more]

Prachtige opname geworden hoor….Mijn pc staat nog steeds te stampen.

Ik heb 20 lights (120 seconden iso1600)binnen voordat de Cloudwatcher ingreep en de volgende bui begon. 17 Lights zijn bruikbaar en ik heb de afgelopen weken van exact hetzelfde beeldveld 3 uur data verzameld tussendoor. Dus ik kan mooi de komeetstack combineren met de 3 uur stack.

Usually I expose my lights (and darks) at a different ISO setting than my flats (ISO 1600 versus ISO 200). Therefore I have seperate (master) bias frames.
What is the best practice / workflow to process the data? How do I make sure the correct master bias frame is applied to (calibration) frames that were exposed at the same ISO setting?

Alleen wind, geen sluierbewolking?
De bewolking begint hier binnen te drijven, helaas.
De komende dagen ziet het er niet slecht uit!
Alleen wind ja, hele mooie lucht. Misschien toch eens nadenken over een scherm in zo’n geval, ben alleen wat bang dat dat wegvliegt.
Mijn knutselwindschermpje van watervast triplex en latten gaat ook weer dienst doen. Met schroefogen en scheerlijnen bestand tegen storm. !windscherm
