It’s the flexibility slider, values 1,2,3 correspond to the models i mentioned. I will fix this soon. I also want to integrate this new frame into the panel on the left instead of the menu, so you don’t get different windows…VCmodels

How can I select one of the 3 models? I can’t see a dropdown menu to select one of the 3 in the “Interactive light pollution modelling” dialog window?

? hmm, no IP and MAC shouldn’t be in your license files I think… if you place a space wrong in the licensfile, the file is corrupted, maybe that was your earlier problem? You shouldn’t touch or alter the file, at least, there is no need for it. The security uses the info from the file, but the actual verification is off course done on my license…[Read more]

Oh my goodness, EKOS heeft nu een polar alignment tool in de spirit van de QHY Polemaster, maar dan gewoon met mijn guidescope. Supersimpel en ik zat binnen 5 minuten op 16 arcseconds off. Ahhh! Love it! newtoolguiding-newtool

I noticed that IP and MAC address is added, maybe those weren’t present in my first .APPlicense file? I will let you know.

I chose to store temporary files during progress in your APP working. APP will also output all results in the APP working directory.

After installing the latest update APP throws following error. Indeed, I had to remove the (hidden) license file and enter the data again.

Hi Mabula,
I mean the APP temp or working files directory, are those files hidden in the APP working directory?

Haverkamp replied to the topic APP crashed during master bias calibration in the forum Astro Pixel Processor Beta 9 years, 4 months ago
I often use a 3TB external USB 3.0 drive to let APP do it’s thing. No problem. But make sure your OS can write in the external drive.
For instance, Mac OS has a problem natively to write on a external NTFS drive…

“Maybe i should set the APP working directory pointing to the external drive?”
Indeed, that would be the solution if you have enoug room there to let APP work.

My SSD has 40 GB free space, i have my lights, flats and bias files on an external USB3 (1.5 TB) hard drive, so i can not stack 157 lights, 30 flats and 150 bias frames with this setup. I think you should clearly indicate the system requirements, to compare things, i can stack any number of lights, flats and bias in DeepSkyStacker with 4 GB RAM…[Read more]

For stacking of your lights you’ll need about 3x more free space, since the RGB data after registration is 3-channel data, whereas the calibration is done only with the one-channel CFA data.

Hi Kees, APP uses filemapping for stacking (which on a SSD is really fast), you need to work on a partition with enough space. For 100 bias of your Canon 6D I suspect you need only 10GB of free space, which shouldn’t be a problem I think?
Also try to work on your fastest drive, this will speed things up.
I’ll check if I can prevent the crashing…[Read more]

I had 157 lights (Canon 6D CR2), 30 flats and 150 bias frames. During the calibration step i checked the size of the bias.dat file by looking at the APP folder. The size of the bias.app grew to a pretty big file and a minute right after i made this screenprint APP crashed. (Linux Mint KDE 64bit/ Intel Core i7/ 8GB RAM/ SSD)
