Hi @mauricetoet,
The error is fixed, from all available frames left, APP will automatically choose a new reference frame using the frame quality estimate after star analysis.
I have also checked if all goes well if you were to start 5) Normalize after having removed the reference after 4) Register. This is working without problems as well.

Zoiets had ik ook met H-Alpha data combineren met RGB in APP. Een tweede sessie aan data leverde geen probleem op, maar of dit nu aan de data lag of aan andere instellingen durf ik niet te zeggen. Ik heb in APP toen met de “same camera and optics” setting zitten spelen.

Hoe zit het met de stergroottes en FWHM waarden van de afzonderlijke stacks? Komen dezen enigszins overeen?

I can replicate the sphere as well, it happens with the following registration settings:
– “same camera and optics” on and “dynamic distortion correction” on
If I turn “”same camera and optics” off, the result is even worse. (first image)

Bij het RGB combineren in Pixinsight loop ik tegen een registratie probleem op van de verschillende kleuren. De fout is niet groot, maar wel goed te zien bij 300% weergave. Nee, is niet de makkelijkste stukje software, ik heb ook een hele dag mee gestoeid, maar het werkt nu perfect!
Ik kom nu wel achter dat het geheim voor mooie opnamen is veel integratie, en platesolving maakt fotograferen over meerdere dagen mogelijk. Zo ben je continue aan het leren met deze hobby!

Waarschijnlijk is de halo rond Mu Cephei het gevolg van reflectie tussen filter en flattener. Het filter zit op de voorgeschreven manier in de houder met de pijl naar de telescoop. Omdraaien zou een verbetering kunnen geven, of een reflectie tussen filter en sensor.

(Te) veel maanlicht en wel een heldere nacht, over naar Ha dus. In totaal 6 uur data, 3 uur M81/M82 en 3 uur IC1396. beide gevallen 12×900 seconden 6nm Baader ha voor QHY16200 (-20C) en achter de Esprit 100 f5.5. processed in APP met 50 darks en 25 flats. Leuk verhaal, de hele nacht wakker geweest dus! Dat is voor mij alweer even geleden, maar het blijft een bijzondere ervaring. Ik vind het resultaat al best netjes hoor, denk ook dat er met iets andere processing meer uit te halen is.. gebruik je geen flats overigens?

Vandaag de kracht van het bundelen maar weer eens ondervonden. Ik, en een andere mede astrofotograaf genaamd Michiel Snijders fotograferen allebei vaak met de Star Adventurer en een 300mm telelens. Afgelopen zaterdag avond (29/4) was het toch plotseling weer helder.
Eerder had ik mijn vrouw van Schiphol opgehaald en toen zag ik het al het was behoorlijk helder.
Het astrovirus begon gewoon weer te kriebelen.
Na een lekkere fles Sauvignon Blanc besloot ik toch maar om de zaak om 1,00 uur buiten te zetten.

Indeed, for flats I use flat-darks and the BPM, I do it like you describe.
